Residential Structure Fire



Early Sunday morning on October 22, 2017, at 3:39 AM, the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 301 Winding Canyon Way in Algonquin. Firefighters arrived at 3:43 AM and found a two story home with heavy fire coming from an attached 3 car garage. Crews initiated an aggressive attack while simultaneously searching the home for any possible victims. The residents were able to evacuate the home safely. One firefighter was treated on the scene and released for heat exhaustion. The fire was under control within minutes of the arrival of the fire department. 


The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by Algonquin Police, Carpentersville Fire Department, Crystal Lake Fire Department, Cary Fire Protection District, and Fox River Grove Fire Protection District. 


The cause of the fire is currently being investigated   A damage estimate is not yet available.
